Effects Of Changing Dimensions

By doubling the dimensions of a polygon the scale factor is 2, the perimeter is 2x the original, and the area is doubled. By tripling it, the scale factor is 3.If the perimeter is 1 by 1, the area is 4 if doubled it would be 8, and if tripled it would be 12. Therefore, the area of a 1 by 1 polygon would be 1, if it is doubled it is 4 if tripled it is 9.

Education, Love it or Hate it?

“One child, one teacher, and one pen can change the world,” stated by Malala Yousafzai. Us Americans were born into so many privileges, one being school. So it is natural for us to take it for granted, but children in places like Pakistan do not have those privileges, so they see school as a chance.
As Americans, we tend to overlook the prerogative of school. For instance, many kids in my school (including me) really hate school and forget that it is really a huge privilege. We see school as a seven-hour and thirty minute day, starting at eight a.m., and ending at three thirty. We view school as a long dreadful day of unnecessary knowledge. Being an American, we know that we are lucky to have school, but because school is a requirement we tend to overlook the privilege and continue to enmity school.
However, children in underprivileged countries may have a small opportunity for an education, but most don’t so they see it as a prospect. A chance, for a successful future. When you lack education, it’s hard to find higher paying jobs or support a family. With an education, you can be a surgeon or a dentist, unlike kids without education. So, if these kids that wouldn’t normally get an education receive one, they could literally change the world. They could inspire others to learn, so then their country would become more education and there would be more chance for them to have education rights. So for kids who don’t have the privilege of an education, see it as a huge chance.
So as you can see, even me, an average American has overlooked the privilege of school. While others like Malala and others see school as a chance. ” Education is the most powerful weapon, which you can use to change the world.”

Thoughts on Child Labor

I think that child labor was a terrible thing. The children literally had no play time, in fact they probably did not know how to play. I can not imagine the hardships they went through every day. They had very terrible working conditions and terrible working hours. If you worked back during the Industrial Revolution they (probably) worked longer hours than your parents, and these are only kids. I cannot imagine sending my kids to go work in very terrible conditions because I could not get a job or pay the bills. I could not go on with my day either knowing my kid my get very hurt or never come back home because of an accident at work.

I complain about going to school, yet now I see how fortunate I am to even having an education. And its horrible that some countries still have kids working.

Secretary of State

I would be apart of the Executive Branch and apart of the Cabinet.

I would be a cabinet member because they are in charge, but not of everything. They are only in charge of their part in the system. Also, without them the president would have control over almost the whole entire Executive Branch. Which completely goes against the United States Constitution, because the idea of our government system is that  no one has more power.

If i was apart of the Cabinet I would be the Secretary of State. I would get to know a lot about what is going on in our world (which is very important) , and I would have to know Foreign Policy. I would also love to go to bed knowing that i’m  helping keep the world safe.

That is why I would be the Secretary of State.
